Questions about performance reports

No. The Lighthouse performance score is a lab result. Google’s real-user Core Web Vitals assessment covers LCP, INP and CLS using field data. Airlift’s report helps you investigate loading, layout stability and blocking work; it is not a real-user monitoring service or a replacement for Search Console’s assessment.

This report’s metric comparison includes LCP, CLS, FCP, Speed Index and Total Blocking Time. TBT measures blocking work during a lab page load and can help investigate responsiveness, but it is not INP. Use field data to check the responsiveness your visitors actually experience.

Airlift uses PageSpeed Insights when your account has a configured Google API key. Otherwise it runs the open-source Lighthouse audit on its own infrastructure. Lighthouse uses a mobile profile by default. Self-hosted reports can include accessibility, best practices and SEO; PageSpeed Insights-sourced reports here include performance only.

Test location, device profile, network conditions and cache state can change a lab result. Airlift runs the optimized Lighthouse test up to twice, keeps the higher-scoring report, and can stop early when the score is already high. It is not an average, and repeated tests can still vary.

No. These reports focus on the homepage. Other layouts may be optimized without receiving their own report score. Test important products, posts and landing pages separately. Lighthouse uses a mobile profile by default; the screenshot comparison uses desktop homepage captures, not a phone screenshot.

No. It compares captured appearance, not complete behavior. Test menus, forms, account flows and checkout yourself. The screenshot pair and diff are only displayed when the comparison is eligible; a missing comparison is not evidence that the page matched. Visual review does not automatically roll back changes.

The dashboard shows the latest result, not a score-history chart. There is no built-in PDF or white-label report export. Report data is available through the API for teams with their own reporting tools. Save results separately if you need a historical record.
